The United Nations officially notified the Iraqi government Friday of the latest resolution approved unanimously by the Security Council which demands Iraq disarm itself, UN spokesman Fred Eckhard told reporters.

The 9-page text was faxed to Iraq on Friday morning via the UN Mission to Baghdad, and no further communication is needed between the United Nations and Iraq, Eckhard said.

Iraq has to confirm, within seven days after receiving an immediate notification from the UN secretariat of the adoption of the resolution, its intention to "comply fully" with the demands and cooperate with arms inspectors.

Iraq is requested to provide a "currently accurate, full and complete" declaration in "not later than 30 days" of all weapons of mass destruction programs and related materials, including items it claimed for purposes "not related to weapon production."

An advance team of UN inspectors is expected to go to Iraq on Nov. 18, chief inspector Hans Blix said shortly after the adoptionof the resolution.

Drafted by the United States and co-sponsored by Britain, the resolution gives Baghdad "the last opportunity" to accept the terms or it will face "serious consequences."
