Putin Signs Russia's Budget Bill for 2003

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a federal budget bill for 2003, the presidential press service said Wednesday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a federal budget bill for 2003, the presidential press service said Wednesday.

The bill, Russia's third consecutive surplus budget, has passed both houses of parliament earlier this month.

The bill sets expenditures at 2.346 trillion rubles (73.77 billion US dollars) and revenues 2.418 trillion rubles (76.04 billion dollars).

Russia's GDP this year is forecast to be 13.05 trillion rubles (410.38 billion dollars) with inflation between 10 and 12 percent.
