The Turkish plane hijacked earlier Friday night landed at Athens international airport shortly after midnight for refueling, the official Athens News Agency (ANA) reported.
The plane was hijacked shortly after it took off on a domestic flight from Istanbul to Ankara.
The Greek authorities said the next moves will depend on the demands of the hijackers, ANA said.
The hijackers intended to have the plane refueled at Athens' Eleftherios Venizelos airport and then head for Germany.
Greek sources said earlier that two Greek F-16 fighter jets had taken off and monitored the plane all through the Greek airspace.
Prime Minister Costas Simitis was informed of the incident and the competent ministers were meeting to discuss how to deal with the incident.
