Russia Protests Against US Bombing near Russian Embassy in Baghdad

Russia Wednesday protested against the incidents that some US bombs were dropped near the Russian embassy in Baghdad, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Russia Wednesday protested against the incidents that some US bombs were dropped near the Russian embassy in Baghdad, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The statement said that "several bombs fell on a civilian district of Baghdad (on Tuesday) where the Russian embassy is located. The lives of Russian diplomats were placed in immediate danger."

It added that the Russian government had handed a strong protest to US Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow, saying suchincidents were "unacceptable."
