Three US Soldiers Killed in Iraq in Helicopter Crash

Three US soldiers were killed andone wounded in northern Iraq on Friday when their UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed into the Tigris River, Pentagon officials said.

Three US soldiers were killed andone wounded in northern Iraq on Friday when their UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed into the Tigris River, Pentagon officials said.

The officials said preliminary reports indicated the crash was an accident, not a result of enemy fire.

One US defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the helicopter appeared to have struck power lines before going down in the Tigris River near Iraqi city of Samarra.
