China hopes to re-open its embassy in Iraq as soon as conditions permit, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue in response to a question at a press conference Tuesday.

Before the war, Zhang Weiqiu, Chinese Ambassador to Iraq, relocated to Jordan to continue his work, and returned to Beijing last Thursday.
