Overseas Donations for China's SARS fight Total US$38.02 million

China has received 38.02 million US dollars in donations from international organizations and foreign governments for the battle against the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), according to statistics released in Beijing Thursday by the Ministry of Commerce.

China has received 38.02 million US dollars in donations from international organizations and foreign governments for the battle against the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), according to statistics released in Beijing Thursday by the Ministry of Commerce.

The overseas support includes Japan's donation equivalent to 1.7 billion Japanese yen, Germany's donation of 10 million euros, Britain's donation of 5 million US dollars, Italy's donation of one million US dollars, Australia's donation of 1.7 million Australian dollars, Canada's donation of 3.14 million US dollars as well as donations from the United States, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and various UN agencies.
