Beijing Reports Marked Growth in Export

China's capital Beijing registered 3.9 billion US dollars in exports in the first seven months of this year, up 32.7 percent over the same period of last year, the latest statistics have shown.

China's capital Beijing registered 3.9 billion US dollars in exports in the first seven months of this year, up 32.7 percent over the same period of last year, the latest statistics have shown.

According to Beijing Customs, exports of high-tech products surged 42.9 percent to hit 1.71 billion US dollars in the first seven months, accounting for 44 percent of the city's total exports for the same period.

The city exported 1.29 billion US dollars worth of goods to Europe from January to July, 1.2 times the figure for the corresponding period of last year. The city's export to the European Union totaled 680 million US dollars, surging 57.8 percent year-on-year.

Foreign-funded enterprises contributed a great deal to the total, with an export volume in the first seven months of 2.67 billion US dollars, or 68.5 percent of the city's total, a rise of38.1 percent year-on-year.
