The sustainable, fast and healthy development of China's economy not only revitalizes the Chinese land, but offers golden opportunities for entrepreneurs all over the world and helps build a prosperous and stable global economy, Chinese Vice-Premier Zeng Peiyan said.

Zeng made the remarks Thursday at the closing of the 2003 Forbes Global CEO Conference which started Tuesday in China's economic hub Shanghai.

Zeng said the Chinese government has worked out goals for building up a well-off society in an all-around way in the country within the coming 20 years.

In a bid to fulfill the blueprint, Zeng said the China will continue to implement the "Go West Campaign", revitalize the traditional industrial base in northeast China's provinces, and to vigorously promote the economic growth in east China areas.

He said the China will more vigorously implement its opening-uppolicy in the future and maintain the continuity and stability of its favorable policies to overseas companies, encouraging overseascompanies to invest in agriculture, high-tech industries and infrastructure with better investment environment.

China will continue to seriously realize its every promise to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and further open up sectors such as finance, insurance, trade and tourism, he added.

With the theme of "Energizing Global Business: The China Factor", the three-day conference attracted approximately 400 regional and global CEOs to discuss and debate the global economy, as well as China's role in global business, finance and geopolitics.
