SCO PMs to gather in Beijing for second consultation

Prime Ministers of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia will arrive in Beijing respectively on Monday and Tuesday to attend the second consultation of prime ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members.

Prime Ministers of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia will arrive in Beijing respectively on Monday and Tuesday to attend the second consultation of prime ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members.

It was reported that the five prime ministers and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will discuss SCO organization mechanism building and regional economic cooperation at the second consultation.

Among the five prime ministers, Tajik Prime Minister Akil Akilov will be the first to arrive in Beijing.

Kazakh Prime Minister Daniyal Akhmetov, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Nikolai Tanayev and Uzbek Prime Minister Utkur Sultanov will arrive respectively later on Monday.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov will arrive early Tuesday morning.

Kasyanov will pay an official visit to China from Sept. 24 to Sept. 25 right after the consultation. Wen and Kasyanov will hold the eighth regular meeting between the prime ministers of the twocountries.

The two will make an appraisal of the overall Sino-Russian relations and plan further cooperation, including cooperation on energy resources, according to China's Foreign Ministry.

Shanghai Cooperation Organization took form On June 15, 2001. The first consultation of the prime ministers of SCO members was held in Kazakhstan's alma-ata in September, 2001.
