Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi will arrive in Macao Special Administrative Region Sunday to take part in the activities at the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, said the forum's organizer Friday.
During her two-day stay in Macao, Wu will attend a banquet hosted by the Ministry of Commerce in honor of participants to the forum, and meet ministerial-level officials from seven Portuguese-speaking countries, including Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and East Timor, according to sources with the Ministry of Commerce.
Macao has been chosen to host the first China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries forum, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, for its designated status as a platform to boost the development of the economic and trade relations. The forum is expected to be made regular later.
A framework document on the economic and trade cooperation between the member countries will be signed during the forum, which will be held between Oct. 12 and 14.
