Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Beijing Wednesday with James Kelly, visiting US assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific Affairs.

Wang exchanged views on the second round of six-party talks with Kelly, who started his China visit Tuesday.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said at a routine press conference Tuesday that Kelly will exchange views with the Chinese side on China-US relations, the nuclear issue of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and other important international issues during his meetings with Chinese officials.

The six parties, namely the DPRK, China, the United States, Russia, the Republic of Korea and Japan, held the first round talks in Beijing in August this year.
