The death toll in Sunday's twin suicide bombings in the northern Iraqi city of Arbil has risen to 101, the US-led coalition said on Tuesday.
A total of 133 people were injured in the twin deadly attacks atthe offices of two Kurdish parties in Arbil, 350 km north ofBaghdad, according to a spokesman for the US-led authority in Iraq.The Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq said on Sunday that 56 people were killed and more than 200 others wounded in the suicide bombings.
The near-simultaneous suicide attacks occurred at about 10:45 a.m. (0745 GMT) on Sunday as the offices were packed with hundreds of people celebrating the Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice, amajor Muslim holiday.
Several senior politicians from both the Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) were killed in the attacks.
