Pakistani cabinet recommends pardon for top nuclear scientist

Pakistani cabinet Thursday recommended to President Pervez Musharraf to pardon the country's top nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan, who has accepted full responsibility for leaking nuclear secrets abroad.

Pakistani cabinet Thursday recommended to President Pervez Musharraf to pardon the country's top nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan, who has accepted full responsibility for leaking nuclear secrets abroad.

Khan submitted his mercy petition to President Musharraf Wednesday afternoon, asking for forgiveness.

Musharraf was to meet with Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali later Thursday on the recommendation and make a final decision on Khan.
