HK, mainland to hold talks on professional services
A high-level conference between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland on professional services will be held in Beijing next week, a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government statement said on February 11.
A high-level conference between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland on professional services will be held in Beijing next week, a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government statement said on February 11.
Financial Secretary Henry Tang will lead a high-level delegation to attend the conference which is aimed at providing a forum for formal dialogue with the relevant mainland authorities on issues related to professional services under the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement between the mainland and Hong Kong.
Issues faced by Hong Kong professionals in launching or expanding their businesses in the mainland, such as recognition of professional qualifications and entry thresholds, will be discussed at the meeting.
The Hong Kong delegation will group senior government officials and representatives from major professional sectors, namely, legal services, medical and dental services, construction-related professional services, real-estate services, and financial services, which include accounting services, insurance and securities.
