US hotel giant enters China market
US-based Carlson Hotels Worldwide, together with Scott Wilson from Britain, signed an agreement Wednesday with a Chinese company to build its first hotel in China.
US-based Carlson Hotels Worldwide, together with Scott Wilson from Britain, signed an agreement Wednesday with a Chinese company to build its first hotel in China.
The hotel, to be built in Ningbo, a booming port city in east China's Zhejiang Province, will cost over 500 million yuan (60 million US dollars) and will be a five-star hotel, sources with the developers said.
Carlson has been in talks with partner companies in Beijing and Shanghai, and it expected to open eight more hotels in major cities of China, company sources said.
An international leading hotel group, Carlson Hotels Worldwide is owning about 1,700 hotels, inns and restaurants in 82 countries and regions with a total employment of 200,000.
Scott Wilson specializes in engineering and designing. It has five branch companies and 300 technicians and experts in China.
China Yuanwang Huaxia Co. Ltd., their Chinese partner based in Ningbo, is a leading local house developer.
