Hong Kong's consumer confidence has hit a three-year high, according to a latest quarterly survey.
A market research conducted recently by ACNielsen illustrated that the Hong Kong people are now more optimistic about the economy than at any time since 1997, the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post reported Wednesday.
The survey also found that people in Hong Kong are also more willing to splurge on big-ticket items, such as a new car or apartment than at any time since 2000.
Several factors contributed to the surging optimism, including a surge in the number of mainland visitors, falling unemployment rate and record-low interest rates in Hong Kong, according to the survey.
