Wreckage of Macedonian president's plane is not found

The NATO-led Multinational Stabilization Force in Bosnia and Herzegovnia (SFOR) said Thursday that search teams are still searching for the wreckage of the crashed plane, which carried Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski, the Beta news agency reported.

The NATO-led Multinational Stabilization Force in Bosnia and Herzegovnia (SFOR) said Thursday that search teams are still searching for the wreckage of the crashed plane, which carried Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski, the Beta news agency reported.

A spokesman for the SFOR dined the claim from a local police officer, who said earlier in the day that the wreckage of the plane and bodies had been found.

"We haven't found the wreckage yet, it is difficult to approach the wooden area." the spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, a team of SFOR soldiers and local policemen will stay in the area Thursday night.

"We haven't found anything yet, policemen are still searching the area." said Franjo Glimovic, a police officer form the Bosniancity of Mostar.

Nedzad Vejzagic, a spokesman for the Bosnia's police, who had said earlier in the day that nine bodies and the wreckage had been found, explained later in the day that the plane is still regarded as "missing."

Trajkovski heading a delegation was scheduled to arrive at Mostar at 8:30 a.m. local time (0730 GMT) for an international aid meeting for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

His plane lost radar contact with air-control organ at about 8:15 a.m. near Stolac area, about 50 km south from Mostar. And local police confirmed that the plane crashed near the village of Bitonja.

So far, there is still no official confirmation of Trajkovski's death, but expression of sympathy and condolence has reached Macedonia from across Europe.
