Emergency aid from China to the quake-hit
Morocco
was sent by plane Feb. 18 afternoon, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The materials, worth 5 million yuan (0.6 million US dollars), are mainly tents, generators, water purification and lighting equipment.
The plane carrying the materials set off from north China's
Hebei
Province, and will arrive in Rabat, capital of Morocco.
The quake, which struck northern Morocco Tuesday, has killed over 500 people and injured more than 300 others.
The Chinese government decided to offer emergency humanitarian aid for the African country's earthquake-shaken areas Wednesday.
