All nine missing miners were confirmed dead in the coal mine flooding accident in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, as the body of the last missing miner was found at 7:15 on March 12.
All nine missing miners were confirmed dead in the coal mine flooding accident in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, as the body of the last missing miner was found at 7:15 on March 12.
The accident occurred in the No. 2 Mine owned by a drilling company of Xinjiang Hami Coal Corporation at 8:50 a.m. Sunday when 49 miners were working below ground.
Twenty-five miners managed to escape, and other 15 were rescued at 3:35 a.m., March 8.
According to Wang Yongzhu, deputy director with Xinjiang coal mine security supervision bureau, the investigation on the cause of the accident is underway by a joint team organized after the accident occurred.
