Anti-dumping investigation against imported Kraft board started

China announced Wednesday it would start an anti-dumping investigation against imported un-bleached Kraft liner and board originating from the United States,the Republic of Korea and Thailand.

China announced Wednesday it would start an anti-dumping investigation against imported un-bleached Kraft liner and board originating from the United States,the Republic of Korea and Thailand.

Such products from China's Taiwan Province also have to go through anti-dumping investigation while entering the Chinese mainland.

The Ministry of Commerce of China said in an announcement that it would scrutinize whether the imported products from the areas constitute dumping, and if so would confirm the scope of dumping.

The investigation should conclude before March 31, 2005, but may extend until Sept. 30, 2005 under certain conditions, according to the announcement.

China launched a total of 15 anti-dumping cases after its accession to the World Trade Organization in 2001. Before that it had launched 12 anti-dumping cases.

The 27 cases involved 22 countries and regions including the United States, the European Union, Japan and the Republic of Korea. Targeted products covered iron and steel, chemicals, light industry products, textiles and telecommunications.
