British police granted more time to question terror suspects
British police were granted more time on Saturday to continue questioning eight men arrested under anti-terrorism legislation in raids across London and southeasternEngland.

According to the Scotland Yard, police officers could now detain the eight until next Tuesday morning when police must either charge or release them, or apply for a further extension.
The eight men, believed to be British citizens of Pakistani descent, were arrested on Tuesday morning when more than 700 police officers launched an anti-terror swoop reportedly to be thebiggest since the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States in 2001.
They were arrested on suspicion of "being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism."
Police on Saturday have also been granted a further 48 hours todetain a ninth suspect, a 27-year-old British citizen who was arrested in London suburb of Crawley, West Sussex, on Thursday.
Under the British Terrorism Act 2000, the suspects could be held for up to two weeks, but must then be charged or released.
