Chinese, French presidents hold talks

BEIJING, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with his French counterpart Francois Hollande here on Thursday.

At Xi's invitation, Hollande is paying a state visit to China from Thursday to Friday.

Hollande will be the first head of state from a major Western nation to visit China since China's leadership transition in March.

The visit will pave way for preparations for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year.

At Xi's invitation, Hollande will visit China from April 25 to 26.
