Sci-Tech Shanghai Builds Technological Innovation Center

The Zhangjiang High-Tech Industrial Park in Shanghai's Pudong Economic Zone is to become a model innovation center over the next five years.

According to Shanghai's vice-major Chen Liangyu, Shanghai has taken a series of measures to boost technological innovation in the industrial park. Measures include developing technological research, financial support and expanding the park from 17 sq km to 25 sq km..

A municipal group has also been established to guide and coordinate the development of the park.

The park is now home to more than 50 high-tech enterprises and about five research and development centers. (Xinhua)
