Sci-Tech Science and Technology Improve Navy's Combat Effectiveness

The Chinese Navy has made full use of science and technology in the improvement of its

combat effectiveness.

In recent years, the Navy has emphasized the role of science and technology in military drills and renovation, officials in Qingdao said.

The navy this year conducted dozens of difficult military maneuvers, such as those designed to defend missile attacks, and coordinated drills against submarine invasions and attacks by hostile fleets.

Through the drills, the Navy has improved its combat effectiveness in any circumstances, the officials said.

In the meantime, the Navy explored new ways to closely link new weapons research and military drills, thus making use of new equipment.

It has also taken concrete measures to encourage technical renovation, resulting in over 600 upgrades over the past few years.(Xinhua)
