China CPPCC Chairman Back from Asian Tour

Li Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), returned to Beijing on December 16 afternoon after concluding official goodwill visits to Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Japan.

Those meeting Li at the Great Hall of the People were Vice- Premier Qian Qichen, CPPCC Vice-Chairman Chen Junsheng and Deputy Director of the General Office of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee Chen Fujin, and relevant diplomatic envoys in Beijing.

Li's entourage, including Zheng Wantong, secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee, and Fang Weizhong, chairman of the Subcommittee of Economy of the CPPCC National Committee, and Vice- Chairman of the Subcommittee of Cultural and Historical Data Gong Yuzhi, returned aboard the same plane.
