font size

A bus carrying 40 passengers, which passed in Indonesia's Nan Duo village, Pasaman regency, in West Sumatra province on Friday evening, was trapped by landslides, causing four people killed.

Pasaman Regent Baharudin was quoted Saturday by state news agency Antara as saying that the "ALS" bus was heading to Padang from Medan and was buried by the landslide in Nusa Duo, some 225 km north of Padang, the capital of West Sumatra.

The rescuer team is still trying to save other passengers, he said, adding that the landslides were triggered by heavy rain since Monday.

On Wednesday, a worse landslide triggered by overnight torrential rain hit a village in Bandung regency, Indonesia, leaving 15 villagers dead.
