HOUSTON, Sept. 21 -- Two teenagers were missing after heavy rains forced their pickup truck into a bayou early Saturday morning in Texas, local media reported.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. CST (Central Standard Time USA, 0900 GMT) at the White Oaks Bayou in the northwest Harris County, the largest county in Texas, local media KHOU reported. A witness told KHOU he saw the truck go in and two passengers washed away.

The truck was retrieved Saturday afternoon by marine units, but they have yet to find the unidentified 18-year-old driver or his 17-year-old female passenger.

Swift currents and debris kept marine unit divers from searching Saturday in the bayou, which was estimated to be 6 meters deep at the time of the accident, said Sgt. Doug Hudson with the Harris County Sheriff's Office marine division. A search team will return Sunday morning to continue their effort.

A storm swept through large parts of Texas Friday night. Northwest Harris County received about 152.4 millimeter of rain, making it one of the hardest hit areas by the storm.

The storm caused high water in some places in Houston, Texas' largest city. While no house flooding was reported, the Houston Police Department has responded to about nine accidents.

Texas Department of Public Safety officials reported one death when a vehicle hydroplaned and hit a tree near Austin, the capital city of the state.
