Asia's 1st 'Angry Birds' theme park to open

Jiaxing (ECNS) -- Asia's first "Angry Birds" theme park is expected to open in the city of Haining, Zhejiang province, this October.

With a total investment of 20 million yuan (3.25 million US dollars), the park represents one of Haining's efforts to boosts its tourism industry, said the city's mayor Hu Yanzi at a tourism promotion event in Shanghai on Wednesday.

Recreational rides for entertainment projects at the park such as the "Angry Birds Castle," the "SUTU interactive plaza" and a "parkour zone" are all imported from Finland, said Hu.

The park is expected to start trial operation in late August or early September, Hu added.
