Xu Qiliang tours AMS and NDU

Xu Qiliang, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), recently carried out investigation and study in the Academy of Military Sciences (AMS) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the National Defense University (NDU) of the PLA. During the investigation and study tour, he stressed that as think tanks,the AMS and the NDU should lead the prosperity and development of military scientific research and vigorously cultivate new-type and high-caliber military personnel.

During the tour, Xu Qiliang visited the front-line teaching and research staff of the Army Building Research Department under the AMS and the Teaching and Research Department of Information Operation and Command Training under the NDU, watched the demonstration of battle simulation and the deducing of war game system at related laboratories, encouraged the staff to deepen the research of operational mechanism and laws under information-based conditions and carry out preliminary war practice in a real way.

Xu Qiliang also went to the Military Reference Library of the AMS and the Digital Library of the NDU to learn about the construction of military materials and information resources, exchanged his views with some experts, teachers and cadets, and had an informal discussion to listen to their opinions and suggestions.

Sun Jianguo, deputy chief of general staff of the PLA, Du Jincai, deputy director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the PLA, Liu Chengjun and Sun Sijing, respectively president and political commissar of the AMS, Wang Xibin and Liu Yazhou, respectively president and political commissar of the NDU, and leaders of the General Office of the CMC participated in the investigation and study tour.
