Jia Ting'an meets with delegation from South African defense department

BEIJING, April 24, (ChinaMil) -- Jia Ting'an, deputy director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met with a human resources delegation headed by Themba Nkabinde, chief of the Human Resources Division under the Department of Defense of South Africa, on April 23, 2013 in Beijing.

Jia Ting'an said that China and South Africa enjoy time-honored friendship. The bilateral relations have been rapidly developed and have become one of the most important and most dynamic bilateral relations among developing countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The successful visit to South Africa recently made by President Xi Jinping, also chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China (PRC), has further pushed forward the development of China-South Africa comprehensive strategic partnership.

The two sides understand and support each other on issues concerning their core and vital interests, and maintain good coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs. In recent years, the relations between the Chinese and South African militaries have been increasingly strengthened as evidenced by constant high-level reciprocal visits, increasing exchanges in professional fields and constantly expanded personnel exchanges at various levels. The Chinese military attaches great importance to its relations with the South African military, and is willing to make joint efforts with the South African side to constantly deepen friendly cooperation between the two militaries.

Nkabinde said that he learnt valuable experience from the Chinese military through the fruitful and rewarding visit. The South African side is willing to work together with the Chinese side to constantly expand the pragmatic cooperation in various fields between the two militaries, so as to push forward sustainable and stable development of the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations.
