CMC leaders attend PLA's Party building meeting

BEIJING, November 8 (ChinaMil) -- Fan Changlong and Xu Qiliang, members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice chairmen of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the CPC, attended and addressed the Party building meeting of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

CMC members Chang Wanquan, Fang Fenghui, Zhao Keshi, Zhang Youxia, Wu Shengli, Ma Xiaotian and Wei Fenghe also attended the meeting, and Zhang Yang, member of the CMC and director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the PLA, chaired the meeting.

Fan Changlong stressed that to realize the goal of building a strong military is a strategic mission concerning the root and overall situation of army building, and Party building in the PLA should provide strong ideological and organizational guarantee for achieving that goal and should always comply with the core requirement of being able to fight and win battles and take improving troop units' combat effectiveness as the fundamental starting point and ultimate goal.

Xu Qiliang stressed that Party building in the PLA is a fundamental building, and it is imperative to ensure Party's absolute leadership over the military, ensure being able to win battles and perform missions, and ensure that the people's army will never change its color.

Leaders of the four general headquarters/departments of the PLA, chief military and political officers and directors of political departments of all major organizations of the PLA, leaders of the CMC General Office, leaders of related secondary departments under the PLA four general headquarters/departments and leaders of related departments under political departments of all major organizations of the PLA attended the meeting.
