Chinese top legislator meets with Hungarian PM

BEIJING, Feb. 13 -- Chinese top legislator Zhang Dejiang met in Beijing on Thursday with visiting Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, voicing hope to further develop legislative ties between the two countries.

Orban's visit coincided with the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Hungary diplomatic relations.

Zhang, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, hailed the result of Orban's visit during the meeting, saying the two state leaders have exchanged in-depth views on various issues, reached multiple important agreements and enriched concrete cooperation between the two sides.

He said he is confident that the result will have a great impact on bilateral cooperation.

He said the NPC and the Hungarian parliament should further strengthen engagement, expand the scale of bilateral cooperation and enhance mutual support to provide a better legal environment for cooperation and the healthy development of the two nations' relationship.

Orban said he is confident in the success of China's reform and development and said he hopes to step up bilateral cooperation in all fields.
