Senior CPC official meets Lao People's Revolutionary Party chief

BEIJING, July 28-- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Wang Qishan on Monday met with Secretary General of Lao People's Revolutionary Party Choummaly Saygnasone, on inter-party relations.

Wang, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, stressed the importance of CPC's leading role in China's modernization drive and the adherence to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Since 1993, the Central Committee of the CPC has admitted that China's anti-corruption situation is severe, Wang said.

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, and the CPC Central Committee believe China's anti-corruption situation is still "severe and complicated", Wang said.

The anti-graft chief underlined persistent efforts to address improper work styles and contain the spread of the corruption.

He said the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC would like to learn from and share experience with the People's Revolutionary Party of Laos.

Choummaly pledged to deepen communication and cooperation with the CPC.

Later Monday, Xi held talk with his Laos counterpart.

Choummaly will conclude his China visit on Tuesday.
