INCHEON, South Korea, Sept. 25 -- China flexed its muscle in shooting as it picked up eight out of 10 gold medals Thursday on offer on Day Six of the competition at the Asian Games.

The trio of Zhao Shengbo, Lan Xing and Liu Gang set the tone for China when they scored a total of 1876.0 points, a new world record, to clinch the gold medal in the men's 50m rifle prone team evnet.

South Korean marksmen You Jaejin, Park Bongduk and Kwon Juncheol combined for 1,869.0 points for the silver while Kazakhstan took the bronze.

World Cup gold medalist Zhao then added to the individual title after edging out Muhammad Ezuan Bin Nasir Khan of Malaysia by a margin of 0.6 points. The bronze medal went to Park Bongduk of South Korea.

"Everybody showed their ability very well including me," Zhao told a press conference after the competition.

China did likewise in the men's 25m standard pistol, as Ding Feng, Jin Yongde and Li Chuanlin shot for a winning total of 1,710 points in the team event and Ding grabbed the individual title with 577 points.

The silver and bronze medals of the team event went to South Korea and Singapore respectively.

"It (25m standard pistol) was not my speciality, so I told myself to stay focused," said Ding.

"I did well today and I'm content with myself."

Also striking golds for China were Zhai Yujia, Zhang Jie and Gan Yu in the men's 10m running target team event. In the individual event, Zhai defeated Jo Yongchol of the DPR Korea to win gold.

China also won the women's double trap team event with 315 hits, while South Korean Kim Mi-jin shot 110 points for the individual gold, edging out China's Zhang Yafei by two points.

In the last event of the day, China's Hu Binyuan snatched the men's double trap individual gold. Before his victory, Qatar scored a total of 404 points to clinch the team title.
