School requires teachers to take practice exams

(Global Times)

Teachers aged 40 and under at the Suqian high school in Jiangsu Province are now required to take practice tests for the college entrance examinations alongside their students and their grades will be recorded in their teaching files, the Xinhua News Agency reported Sunday.

Since the announcement of the new rule, many teachers have been worrying about their performance on the exam.

"I will be very embarrassed if we don't get good scores," one teacher said. "Students may laugh at us, which would damage our image."

"I'm not afraid to take the exams with students, but the new rule violates our dignity," a young teacher said.

"The main aim of the rule is to help young teachers become familiar with the test. Their grade won't be published and the school won't judge teachers based on their score," a school official explained.
