Sun Jianguo meets with Bengalese guests

BEIJING, November 14 (ChinaMil) -- Sun Jianguo, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and chairman of the China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS), met with a visiting delegation of the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) on the afternoon of November 13, 2013 in Beijing.

Sun Jianguo said that China and Bangladesh are close and friendly neighbors. With the joint efforts of the two governments and their people, the relations between the two countries have always been developing healthily and smoothly. The Chinese side always regards Bangladesh as a sincere and reliable friend and partner, appreciates and thanks the Bengalese government for its unswervingly adhering to the one-China policy. The Chinese side also attaches great importance to developing the relations between the Chinese and Bengalese militaries, and strives to open up new areas of bilateral pragmatic cooperation, so as to make the bilateral military-to-military relations an important pillar of lasting friendship between the people of the two countries. Under the current complex and volatile international and regional situations, the two countries and the two militaries, especially the two institutes, are supposed to strengthen unity and make efforts to maintain regional peace and stability and promote common development and prosperity of the two countries.

The principal members of the BIISS delegation include Major General Shafiuddin Ahmed, director general of the BIISS. The delegation came to visit China at the invitation of the CIISS.
