A man was arrested on suspicion of stealing six cellphones worth at least 5,000 yuan ($802) at subway stations on Subway Lines 1 and 2 in August, according to Haidian district prosecutors, the Legal Mirror reported Tuesday.

The 27-year-old man, surnamed Li, came from Gansu Province. His targets were single women who were using cellphones as they waited for the train. He stole the phones as the train doors were closing and then fled.

Li was arrested on Subway Line 1 on August 28, a day after he stole a woman's iPhone 4 at Qianmen station on Subway Line 2. The train departed immediately, and the victim had no time to see the suspect's face.
