According to Hungarian media reports, the two victims of a robbery that occurred in the 17th district of Újlak Street, Budapest on Sept. 29, 2014 have been confirmed as two Chinese men doing clothing business.

The robbers stole a total of 1.5 million euros in cash, which was equivalent to 465 million forints. The victims carried so much cash with them because they were going to replenish their stock. Their shop is not far away from the crime scene. Neighbors said it is no surprising that they got robbed since everyone around knows they always carry a large amount of cash, and drive eye-catching vehicles to transport their goods.

A weapon expert said not all the holes on the victims' car are from gunshots; some were left by edged tools. Witnesses said there was a gunfight. The white car the robbers drove to flee was later found on the Cinkotai Street with several small-caliber bullet holes on its windshield. No weapons were found in the car.

According to local residents, the crime rate in Hungary has been low in Europe, even lower than Germany, France and the UK. A robbery involving such a big amount of money like this one is the first case in nearly 10 years in Hungary. Some local Chinese speculated that this is a premeditated robbery.
