Making art out of ocean debris and plastic pollution

Plastic debris can wash up almost anywhere. And now, it’s landed at the Smithsonian National Zoo.

The Washed Ashore Project collected the debris from the Oregon coastline. The exhibits were put on display to raise awareness of plastic pollution’s impact on the environment.
