Experts expect big shift in global energy landscape (2)

Two thirds of the world's known oil reserves are located in the Middle East. However, the IEA's projections that the U.S. would replace the kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the top oil producer within 7 years showed the bustling congress that the industry's music will soon play at the other end of the world.

Not only will the U.S. be less dependent on Middle Eastern oil, but also the use of green technologies will be expanded into individual transport, reducing the use of fossil energies even more, said Peter Berezin, Chief Strategist at Bank Credit Analyst.

Held under the theme "Sustainable Energy Growth: People, Responsibility and Innovation," the ADIPEC, running in its 15th edition this year, expects some 50,000 visitors and runs through Wednesday.
