Interfering Chinese parents (3)

(People's Daily Online)

08:26, December 17, 2012

Parents should not interfere in every aspect of their children's lives

According to the survey, nearly 72 percent of respondents believe that too much interference from parents will make their children more rebellious, and nearly 65 percent think that it will cause inferiority complex and vacillation in children. Over 64 percent believe it will put too much pressure on children and affect their mental and physical health. Nearly 54 percent think it may cause children to take an unsuitable life course.

"Parents should help children complete their socialization process, instead of interfering in every aspect of their children's lives," Wu said. At the same time, children should try to understand their parents. "Parents are not born educators. Both children and parents should give each other some time to grow," Wu noted.
