Peng Yue (died 196 BC), was a prominent military leader and political figure in the early Han Dynasty. In recognition of his contributions, Liu Bang granted Peng Yue the title of "King of Liang" after the founding of the Han Dynasty. After Chen Xi's rebellion was quelled, Gaozu heard rumours that Peng Yue was intending to rebel against him, So he exiled Peng the remote Sichuan province.

Along the way, Peng Yue encountered Empress Lü Zhi, who wanted to have him killed. He pleaded with her to spare his life and let him return home to Changyi, and the empress pretended to agree. Peng Yue was brought back to Luoyang where he was subsequently executed. Empress Lü ordered Peng Yue's corpse to be minced into pieces and had Peng's clan put to death as well.
