Another romantic movie, The Rooftop, is expecting millions of audiences this summer. The musical is the second film directed by pop artist Jay Chow, and is aiming for both Chinese and overseas markets.

Romance may not be on everyone’s movie cards. Some studios are turning to detective and horror films.

Hong Kong director Johnny To’s film "Blind Detective" is much anticipated among fans of suspense. Starring Andy Lau, the film spins intrigue around a homicide case investigated by a blind detective.

And horror movies "The Deadly Strands" and "Bunshinsaba II" are also competing for a share of the pie.

It looks like film-goers will be spoiled for choices this summer.
