MOSCOW, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Russia was developing new class of strategic missiles using cutting-edge technologies, Russian Strategic Rocket Forces said Tuesday.

"First time in two decades we are going to exceed the limits of only two missile divisions rearmament. In 2013, we will rearm missile regiments in three divisions and prepare for rearmament of two more missile divisions," Commander of the Forces Sergei Karakayev told reporters following the end of the forces' drills.

The state rearmament program allocated substantial funds for development of brand-new strategic nuclear missiles, he said.

According to Karakayev, the newest Topol-M and Yars missile systems have been deployed in Teikovo rocket division in central Russia.

Four regiments of the Teikovo division received these fifth-generation ground-based missile systems in 2012. The rearmament of the missile divisions in Novosibirsk in South Siberia, Saratov and Kaluga in Central Russia regions also commenced this year.
