TEHRAN, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Head of Egypt's Interest Section in Iran, Khalid al-Said Ibrahim Amari, said Monday that an Egyptian economic delegation will visit the Islamic republic Tuesday.

The Egyptian official said a meeting on economic cooperation between Iran and Egypt would be held Tuesday and Wednesday in Iran 's capital Tehran, Press TV reported.

The delegation would comprise of economic activists and representatives of various fields in Egypt's private sector, he said, adding that the grounds and potentials for increasing economic cooperation between Iran and Egypt would be discussed at the meeting.

In his recent visit to Egypt's capital Cairo, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said his country offered Egypt "a big credit line" besides many other services.

Ahmadinejad said Iran had no limitations in cooperating with Egypt, stressing that Egypt's progress and security were important to Iran.

Ties between Egypt and Iran have been cut off for over three decades after Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979. Both states are currently struggling to restore ties after Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi came to power in mid-2012.
