All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce congress closes

BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- The 11th Congress of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) concluded here Sunday, with a new executive committee of 494 members elected.

During the three-day meeting, representatives approved the work report of the previous executive committee, amended the ACFIC's charter and passed a resolution on the study and implementation of the essence of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The closing session was presided over by Huang Mengfu, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and addressed by Quan Zhezhu, deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Quan urged the new ACFIC leadership to play a role as an ideological guide for the country's private sector.

Chinese business people should have firm confidence in the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics, said Quan, who is also secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the ACFIC.
