A primary school in Baise, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, recently suspended classes for a week over fears of an attack from a strange swarm of wasps.

According to the latest news, the primary school resumed classes on Tuesday after firemen cleared the "time bomb."

On Monday, the fire department in Baise got a call from Dongjiang Primary School saying that a large and curious swarm of wasps had been terrorizing the school for days.

After nearly a week of canceled classes, school authorities hoped that the fire department could help.

Firemen traveled 70 kilometers to the Dongjiang Primary School and discovered the angry wasps were curiously clustered on the branch of a tree in the school's playground.

Local people said that they had never seen a swarm like that before and they were worried that the wasps would harm the children.

Firefighters put on protective clothing and began beating at the swarm of wasps with torches. After 15 minutes, the cluster was burned, leaving thousands of dead wasps on the ground.

Fortunately, no one was stung in the incident. The primary school has resumed classes and samples of the dead wasps have been sent to the local agricultural department for experiments.
