HK stocks end 0.26% lower (2)

Local developers Hang Lung Properties decreased 1.34 percent to 29.50 HK dollars. Henderson Land, another major developer in Hong Kong, shed 1.17 percent to 55 HK dollars, and Cheung Kong Holding, a powerful HK-based developer controlled by billionaire Li Ka- shing, lowered 1.56 percent to 119.90 HK dollars.

As for mainland-based financial stocks, China Construction Bank, the country's second largest bank which accounts for the third largest weighting of the Hang Seng Index, moved down 0.32 percent at 6.23 HK dollars. ICBC, the world's largest bank by market value, lost 0.18 percent at 5.47 HK dollars. Bank of China closed flat at 3.42 HK dollars. Bank of Communications, China's fifth biggest lender measured by assets, lost 0.69 percent to 5.75 HK dollars.

As for energy stocks, China's top refiner Sinopec advanced 0.12 percent to 8.74 HK dollars. PetroChina, the country's largest oil and gas producer, went down 0.37 percent to 10.76 HK dollars. Kunlun Energy fell 1 percent to 15.9 HK dollars. CNOOC moved down 0.47 percent to 16.80 HK dollars. (1 U.S. dollar equals 7.75 HK dollars)
