Who created a legend for Suzhou Industrial Park?

"Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) always persists in talents strategy. We introduce and foster 200 talents for innovation and 200 high-skill talents every year," said Wang Xiang, secretary of CPC Working Committee of SIP at a group interview by more than 30 media organizations from home and abroad on Dec. 15, 2012.

Known as "the paradise on earth", Suzhou, a city in east China's Jiangsu Province, has attracted wide attention from the world not only by its amazing scenery but also by its prosperous Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP).

Suzhou Industrial Park, located in the east of Suzhou old city and covering a total jurisdiction area of 288 square kilometers, is the largest economic cooperation project between China and Singapore government.

On February 26, 1994, Vice Premier Li Lanqing and Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew represented China and Singapore respectively in signing an agreement for joint development of the Suzhou Industrial Park. The project officially commenced on May 12 in the same year.

After nearly 18 years' development, SIP has maintained an annual growth rate as high as 30 percent in key economic indicators, ranking the second among national development zones in comprehensive development index.

Various superior industries including IC, TFT-LCD, automotive and aeronautical parts and other leading industries clustered in SIP. In addition, software, outsourcing services, biopharmaceutical and nanotech industry also emerge in SIP.
